My Daddy's Garden
by PJ

My Daddy has a Garden. It was on the sixth day of creation when He spoke the blessing over Adahm (Adam and Eve) in this Garden. B'resheet/Genesis 1:28 (AMP) records, "And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it (using all its vast resources in the service of God and man); and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth." Through this blessing, He released through His Words the power it would take for all humanity to walk in this blessing for all time. Then He rested from all His works.

Here you and I are, some 6,000 years later (or six days as one day with the LORD is as a thousand years), and this blessing is still operational when we put it to work. But to put it to work we have to understand a very simple principle called Shabbat/Sabbath. B'resheet/Genesis (AMP) 2:2-3 says, "And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. And God blessed (spoke good of) the seventh day, set it apart as His own, and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all His work which He had created and done."

Historically, Shabbat/Sabbath has kept Jews. It's the day of the week when Jews tune out the difficulties of life and tune in on G-d. It's a cessation of labors. G-d even commanded the children of Israel to remember Shabbat/Sabbath to keep it holy (full of G-d's integrity). But there is a greater secret to the blessing in Shabbat/Sabbath.

Mashiakim Yehudim / Hebrews 3:7-19 (AMP) outlines the failure of the ancient Hebrews to enter into the secret of the blessing of Shabbat/Sabbath. "

"Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts, as [happened] in the rebellion [of Israel] and their provocation and ]embitterment [of Me] in the day of testing in the wilderness, Where your fathers tried [My patience] and tested [My forbearance] and found I stood their test, and they saw My works for forty years. And so I was provoked (displeased and sorely grieved) with that generation, and said, They always err and are led astray in their hearts, and they have not perceived or recognized My ways and become progressively better and more experimentally and intimately acquainted with them. Accordingly, I swore in My wrath and indignation, They shall not enter into My rest. [Therefore beware] brethren, take care, lest there be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to cleave to, trust in, and rely on Him], leading you to turn away and desert or stand aloof from the living God. But instead warn (admonish, urge, and encourage) one another every day, as long as it is called Today, that none of you may be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [by the fraudulence, the stratagem, the trickery which the delusive glamor of his sin may play on him]. For we have become fellows with Christ (the Messiah) and share in all He has for us, if only we hold our first newborn confidence and original assured expectation [in virtue of which we are believers] firm and unshaken to the end. Then while it is [still] called Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion [in the desert, when the people provoked and irritated and embittered God against them]. For who were they who heard and yet were rebellious and provoked [Him]? Was it not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses? And with whom was He irritated and provoked and grieved for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose dismembered bodies were strewn and left in the desert? And to whom did He swear that they should not enter His rest, but to those who disobeyed [who had not listened to His word and who refused to be compliant or be persuaded]? So we see that they were not able to enter [into His rest], because of their unwillingness to adhere to and trust in and rely on God [unbelief had shut them out]."

So we can see that disobedience, lack of trust, no faith keep us from entering in to Shabbat/Sabbath rest. Yet, still, there is a promise of this rest to the people of G-d. So how do we enter it and what is there?

Mashiakim Yehudim / Hebrews 4:9-11 (AMP) says, "So then, there is still awaiting a full and complete Sabbath-rest reserved for the (true) people of God;  For he who has once entered (God's) rest also has ceased from (the weariness and pain) of human labors, just as God rested from those labors peculiarly His own.  Let us therefore be zealous and exert ourselves and strive diligently to enter that rest (of God, to know and experience it for ourselves), that no one may fall or perish by the same kind of unbelief and disobedience (into which those in the wilderness fell)."

Through the atoning work of Yeshua HaMashiach on the cross, the entrance into Shabbat/Sabbath for G-d's people has been restored to where it was in the Garden. We have been made joint-heirs with Moshiach. We enter Shabbat/Sabbath by faith.

Let me give you an example. Mashiakim Yehudim/Hebrews 11:6 AMP says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." So let's just use a hypothetical situation. I have received a prayer request to pray for Mr. X who is blind. I pray and seek G-d's wisdom on this situation and He leads me to specific healing scriptures to base my prayer and confession of faith. I pray and start speaking the Word of G-d so the angels can take my words to the Cohen Gadol (High Priest) of heaven where G-d is watching over His Word to perform it. I see no change in Mr. X's condition. So what do I do? I have an option....I can lose all hope and say this faith stuff doesn't work and quit OR I can trust G-d and enter into Shabbat/Sabbath rest which is COMPLETE TRUST THAT G-D WILL PERFORM HIS WORD no matter what I see, how I feel, how it looks or any other temporal situation. It is in this rest where I sit down with Him in heavenly places knowing He is going to take care of Mr. X's vision. It is where I rule and reign with Him already. Ephesians 2:6 (AMP) says, "And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together (giving us joint seating with Him) in the heavenly sphere (by virtue of our being) in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One)."

I can tell you that most people choose the option to just whine and say the faith stuff doesn't work. But you know what? Just because they choose that option doesn't mean that the other doesn't exist or work.

What happens when I believe G-d? I rest from my labors. It becomes His battle, not mine. My labour was simply to use my measure of faith to enter Shabbat/Sabbath. You notice I say, "my measure" because G-d has given each of us the same measure. We all have the same capacity to believe.

What is in Shabbat/Sabbath rest? VICTORY! THE BLESSING!

My Daddy has a Garden and I stay in it with Him as much as I can. You can too! I am convinced we do not have to wait to enter the Great Shabbat/Sabbath. We can enter it right now! All we have to do is not harden our hearts, believe His Word and have faith!
