The Power Of The Shout!

Some people go to worship services and are never really comfortable with all the dancing and shouting and praising G-d. But we were created to praise G-d!

My congregation and I have been studying the shout as a weapon of warfare, as a tool of praise. It's not enough to just "think" praise or "feel" praise. Do you know that G-d Himself is in the shout? The Hebrews knew it in Jericho long ago.

G-d has gone up with a shout! And yet, we are afraid to shout in our worship to Him. However, we aren't afraid to shout when our favorite sports team is winning. Go figure.

Some get embarrassed when it comes to shouting to G-d in front of others. They don't realize that there is a shout that breaks the covering power of evil spirits. Faith expressed in the shout forms a weapon of the L-rd's choosing that defeats the enemy.

Davari Hayamim / 2 Chronicles 13 records a story of the tribe of Yehudah being pursued by the enemy. They were totally surrounded, outnumbered and powerless. To all intents and purposes they were defeated. But they gathered together and shouted unto ADONAI. As a result of their shouting, the L-rd slew 500,000 of their enemies. Think about 1/2 million felled by the shout.

In Thessalonians it is written that Yeshua is coming back with a shout and the sound of a trumpet. P'yilut Hashaliachim / Acts records that Yeshua shall return in the same manner that He left. So obviously He left with a shout amid trumpet sounds.

As Yeshua ascended shouting through ha'satan's domain in the air, the powers and principalities heard Yeshua declaring the divine purposes of G-d. What did Yeshua's shout release? It released His gifts upon men. It released apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.

Those who choose to follow Yeshua should stand echad with Him and continue to shout what He accomplished and released upon this earth! We have many reasons to praise and shout unto the L-rd; revival, defeat of our enemies, glorious manifestations of G-d's power are all good reasons......but there's a best reason and that is simply because we love Him and want all of heaven and earth to hear it. It's what we were created to do......praise G-d.
