Jesus is Coming Back! His Time is Coming

Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.” Acts 1:6-7 NIV
After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” Acts 1:9-11 NIV
For 2000 years, people have been expecting Him to come back. Many of the writers of the New Testament made references to Christ’s return as if they were expecting it to be in their time. Yet, we are still waiting.
Something we need to consider is time. God doesn’t live in time. He created it for us when He made the moon and the sun. Think about how long God has been around – forever –one day is as 1000 years to Him. So, when it comes to time, we may not always be on the same wavelength as He is. And, we should not think He isn’t coming just because He hasn’t come yet. He is waiting patiently to give many others the opportunity to come to know Him and be saved.
I heard the Lord say “And now the time has come to move forward, to leave the past behind. Now is the time. The end draws near. I will come soon. Prepare. Prepare for me. See the time grows short. There is no time to delay. Call my people to see the signs of the times. Come to me all ye people. Bring your babies, bring your children and come to me. There is salvation in my arms. There is love in my eyes. I wait for you. Sing to me your praises, for all I have I give to you. Rejoice now and be happy. All is well in me.”
We are warned to watch and not be like the rest of the world, being caught off guard and surprised when that day comes. We should be aware of the times we are living in.
Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-4 NIV
God’s love created us. His love sent Jesus to us. His love forgives us. His love sent us Holy Spirit. And it is God’s love that will send Him back to us. Make no mistake; He is coming back. Each day that passes brings us closer to His return.
The world is filled with evil and sorrow, but the Lord’s time will come. And when He comes, He’ll be looking for the ones who look to Him as their God, who trust Him, love Him, and follow His ways of love. These are the ones who will fill His world forevermore.
