Lord, Lord
by PJ

Matit'yahu/Matthew 7:21 says, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!"

I don't know about you but this verse has often troubled my spirit. I don't want to be one of these people and I am sure neither do you.

Who are these people? I believe Yeshua was referring to people who say they follow Him but have never separated themselves from sin.

We cannot accept Yeshua as our Savior and pretend He is our L-rd if we are going to willfully continue living in sin. When we make Yeshua our L-rd we are sealed by the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) and it is by the power of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) we are able to separate ourselves from sin. As believers we have been endued with power to overcome sin, cast out demons and live for G-d.

I have actually known Believers who have gone back to deeply sinful lives believing that G-d's grace will cover all they do. Do we really get by with sin? No. Does G-d just look the other way? No.

What is practicing lawlessness? It's deliberately and willfully breaking G-d's laws and commandments. And think about this....in the New Covenant there are only two commandments, both love commandments. So if you are willfully refusing to forgive people, holding grudges and not walking in love....re-think your position.

Revelation 3:5 says, "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels."

So he who does not overcome can have his name blotted out, erased from the Book of Life! Overcome what? Sin!

Today there are people living in sin who once accepted Yeshua as their Savior. They mistakenly believe they don't really have to change their ways and that the grace of G-d allows them to live in their sins.

They mistakenly believe that their once acceptance of Yeshua is enough to get them to heaven while they live unlike G-d. Unfortunately they're going to have a huge and unpleasant surprise one day soon.

I have said this so often but it's still truth; we can't just go around doing whatever we want to do in life. We either do what G-d wants or not.

Ya'akov/James 1:22 admonishes us, "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." That means keep G-d's commandments or else you will be deceived.

Galatians 6:7-8 tells us, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life."

If you are committing sin...it's time to stop. Kefa Bet / 2 Peter 2:20 warns, "For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Chirst, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb, "A dog returns to his own vomit," and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire."

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 AMP, "Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled); neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality, nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God."

Galatians 5:19-21 AMP, "Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious); they are immorality, impurity, indecency, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies), envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."
