Remove The Yeast

Matit'yah ha-Levi/Matthew 16:5-6 AMP "When the disciples reached the other side of the sea, they found that they had forgotten to bring any bread. Yeshua/Jesus said to them, Be careful and on your guard against the leaven (ferment) of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

Have you ever gone through a day where one little event after another occurs and you get so fed up it only takes one last straw to cause an entire explosion? What happened? It was a trap! It was a little trap that ensnared.

We have an enemy in this world that goes around sowing discord and strife, calamity and disaster, sickness and loss, pain and every other evil thing you can think up. He's very adept at sowing a little of his seed here and a little there. His seed is called yeast. One of ha'satan's/satan's greatest methods of trapping people is with yeast.

Yeast is "something that agitates or causes fermentation; leaven (rising)." Fermentation refers to a substance causing a state of excitement, commotion, unrest, boiling up or agitation. Yeast also causes an object to appear much larger than it actually is.

ha'satan/satan will use any opportunity to agitate us or stir up unrest and excitement. He will blow up any situation to cause it to appear much worse than it really is. It only takes a small amount of yeast to get a big rise. I know when I bake challah, it takes just a little yeast, a little sugar, and a little warm water to turn flour and egg into a big loaf. This is precisely what ha'satan/satan does with yeast....another word for leaven.

We are living in a world where sin aka yeast is rampant. A little yeast sown here and sown there and huge explosions of unrest and agitation occur with situations that are so huge in appearance, no one sees any way to solve the problems. Quite often if we will look through the eyes of the Spirit, we will see the problem isn't so big at all and using the gifts of the Spirit we can conquer it through Yeshua/Jesus. But unfortunately, those times where people don't see, leaven is given the greater influence and today it runs kingdoms and peoples all over this planet.

Yeshua/Jesus warned the disciples about the leaven or yeast. We cannot give place to leaven in our lives without it causing problems. We must do a spiritual inventory of ourselves often called judging ourselves, to remove the leaven in our lives. This is precisely the same process Jews go through before Pessach/Passover. It's called removing the chametz. It's cleaning one's home from every trace of leaven which represents sin.

If we will stop and look at the methods of operation of ha'satan/satan, we will see he never varies in his methodology. One of his greatest baits is ensnaring man with his own words. If there is leaven in that man, his words shall ensnare him. If there is no leaven in that man, his words will give ha'satan/satan no place.

I often hear people tell me of situations where someone "pushed all their buttons." The pushing of the buttons lead to explosions of anger and violence. What they are telling me is "I had leaven for ha'satan/satan to agitate in me." It only takes a small amount.

One of the best things we can do is become more skillful at recognizing traps ha'satan/satan sets for us. When he "pushes our buttons" we won't have to respond except with the fruits of the spirit with which we fill ourselves.

The fruits of the spirit are the manifestations of G-d's work in us through and by His Spirit. Galatians 5:22-25 AMP says, "But the fruit of the Ruach Ha'Kodesh/ [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge]. And those who belong to Moshiach Yeshua/Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires. If we live by the Ruach Ha'Kodesh/[Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Ruach Ha'Kodesh/ Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]"

"Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge]. " Think about it. This is ha'satan's/satan's only weapon......accusation. It is written in Hagilu Natan Elohim/Revelation 12:10 AMP, "Then I heard a strong (loud) voice in heaven, saying, Now it has come -- the salvation and the power and the kingdom (the dominion, the reign) of our God, and the power (the sovereignty, the authority) of His Christ (the Moshiach/Messiah); for the accuser of our brethren, he who keeps bringing before our God charges against them day and night, has been cast out!"

All ha'satan/satan needs is a little pinch of yeast in you to control you. Then when he sets off the explosion of agitation, he runs to G-d and accuses you. The way to stop Him? Remove the yeast by the wine, the blood of Yeshua/Jesus! Then allow G-d to fill you with the fruits of the spirit. Then when ha'satan/satan comes, all he'll find in you are the fruits of G-d.

Yeshua/Jesus has always impressed me with His ability to walk through crowds threatening to strike Him down and walking through situations where people would try to entrap Him with His words. I never could figure out how He did it until I began to understand that Yeshua/Jesus never reacted to the fruits of men. The reason He didn't react is because there was no yeast in Him. If He had reacted even once, ha'satan/satan would have had a place in Him ready to explode at ha'satan's/satan's whim.

We have come to a place in time where the understanding now exists for us to be able to understand what ha'satan/satan has been doing to us. We have been given the grace and the power to overcome it. So I encourage you to start ridding your house of the chametz. Remove the leaven. Remove that dynamite ha'satan/satan has been sowing into you and replace it with the fruits of the Spirit of G-d.

This is precisely how Yeshua/Jesus managed to sidestep all the attacks. He honestly said in Yochanan/John 14:30 AMP "I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; there is nothing in Me that belongs to him, and he has no power over Me.]" May we also say the same thing in our lives! Amen!
