Purpose Of The Resurrection

Luke 24:45-46 (KJV)says, "Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures." "And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day."

If we are truly sons and daughters of God, the veils have to come off. He has access to our spirits 24/7. He opens our understanding to discern the evidence of those things that are true. The best way to understand something that you have read in the Bible is to pray that the Father would open up your mind to understand, that way you can put God’s Word into action.

It was necessary for Jesus to suffer to take away the sins of the world, and to deliver us from death. When He rose on the third day not only did all the sins of the world roll away, but He declared to be the Son of God. Christ was the first-begotten (Revelation 1:5 and the first-born from the dead (Colossians 1:18).

Jesus' resurrection is a pledge to us. If we are truly children of God; because He has risen, we shall rise. The first-fruits are to rise first, and afterwards all who are in Christ. Those that are in Christ must rise, because of their relation to Him. (1 Corinthians 15: 20, 23)
