Ring Of Fire Is Hell

Picture someone you love.

Luke 16:19-31

v19 "There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. v20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, v21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. v22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. V23And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. V24 "Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. V25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. V26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us. V27 Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, v28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment,’ v29 Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ v30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ v31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, ’neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’

1. Death is coming!! Heb.9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment. Know and understand that you will give an account to Jesus as Judge for every thought, word, and deed. Let this influence your conduct.

2 Cor. 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

2. Hell is real. Luke 16:23 And being in torment to Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. Hades (Hell) is the abode (home ) of the dead. The description leave no doubt that the rich man was in a place of eternal punishment.

Those who are consigned to hell will be put out into blackness for eternity, with nobody to turn to or talk to--constantly alone. There will be no exit from hell, no way out, no second chance. That is why it is so important in this life to receive the pardon that God extends to all men through the Cross of Jesus Christ (Rev. 20:11-15).

3. Phil.2: 5-11 v10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, v11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Adopt Christ’s attitude of unselfishness, servanthood, humility and obedience.

If we really knew what Hell is like, we would not be so quick to go there.

Hell - the place of torment.

1. Everlasting fire - Matt.25:41 says, Then He will also say to those on the left hand, "Depart from ME, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

2. Everlasting punishment - Matt.25:46 says, And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

3. Outer darkness - Matt.8:12 says, But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth

4. Everlasting destruction - 2 Thess.1:9 says, These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.

5. Lake of Fire - Rev.19:20 says, Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Great Pain:

1. Weeping Lk.13:28 says, There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. Thrust means to push or drive with force : SHOVE

Weeping and gnashing of teeth - This speaks of inconsolable grief and unremitting torment. Jesus commonly used the phrases in this verse to describe hell.

2. Wailing (out of control) and gnashing of teeth (angry) - Matt.13:41-42 v41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend and those who practice lawlessness, V42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

3. Darkness (no light) - Matt.8:12 But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I believe that everyone in hell believes.

James 2:19 You believe that there is one God, you do well. Even the demons believe - and tremble!!

Bottomless pit - Rev.20:1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit (hell) and a great chain in his hand.

Misery means 1) a state of suffering and want that is the result of poverty or affliction 2) a circumstance, thing or place that causes suffering or discomfort 3) a state of great unhappiness and emotional distress.

Misery - lasts forever Rom.3:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways; Destruction and misery - Man damages and destroys everything he touches, leaving a trail of pain and suffering.

Prov.27:20 says, Hell and Destruction are never full; So the eyes of man are never satisfied.

You either believe or not. The Truth Is!!!

There will be 3 categories of people in Hell:

Evil ones - 1 Cor.6:9a (Amp.) Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God?

Selfish ones - Matt.25:45-46 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ v46 And theses will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

Churchy ones - Matt7:20-23 v20. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. V21. "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven v22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? V23. And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!

If your name is not in the book - Rev.20:15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

How to Avoid Hell:

Rom.3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.

Rom.5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet (still) sinners, Christ died for us.

Rom.6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rom.10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Admit that you need a Savior.

Luke 15:11-32 We are so much like the prodigal son. We wasted our inheritances. But this father was watching and waiting for his son's return; just as God the Father waits for us.
