It Is Spirit And It Is Life

G-d's Word. What exactly is the power of it? What do you mean it works? Why does it work? How do you use it? How does it work? Who can use it?
I am well aware that G-d created the heavens and the earth with letters. It is not a far stretch to understand Mashiakim Yehudim/Hebrews 11:3 AMP "By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible." I even understand that the weight of G-d is in the unseen dark matter, not because it's dark but because it's light has not reached us yet. But when I begin to put the scriptures of the old and new covenants together concerning the Word, I begin to get a more complete picture of it's power.
According to Yochanan/John 1:1-4 AMP, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men." The first thing about the Word that is established is that the Word, Itself, is G-d. G-d considers Himself and His Word the same. So by necessity the Word is pure, holy and every other attribute of G-d, for It is G-d.
The written Word bears out the Word having G-d's attributes. T'hillim/Psalm 12:6-7 AMP "The words of the LORD are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times. You shall keep them, O LORD, You shall preserve them from this generation forever." T'hillim/Psalm 107:20-21 AMP "He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!" Yochanan/John 17:17 AMP "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." T'hillim/Psalm 119:103-105 AMP "How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp unto my feet And a light to my path." The Word is pure, healing, sanctifying, truth, sweet, wisdom and light and all the other attributes of G-d.
What can the Word do for us? What is it's power to help us? It sets us free from the captivity and slavery to sin. Yochanan/John 8:31-32 AMP "Then Yeshua.Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.'' It gives us faith. Romans 10:17 AMP, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." It transforms us by renewing our minds and correcting our thinking processes. Romans 12:2 AMP, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." It's a weapon to fight ha'satan in spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6:15-17 AMP "And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one, And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
The Word feeds us and causes us to grow in G-d's ways. Kefa Aleph/1 Peter 2:2-3 AMP, "As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious." The Word protects us from sin. T'hillim/Psalm 119:11, 16 AMP, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against you. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word."
The Word also judges us, instructs us and corrects us. Mashiakim Yehudim/Hebrews 4:12 AMP"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." 2 Timothy 3:15-17 AMP, "And that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Moshiach Yeshua. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
The Word gives life. Yochanan/John 6:63 AMP says "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life." Now we can start to understand the true power of the Word. And knowing It is alive and knowing It's power gives us fear of the L-rd which is the beginning of wisdom.
We don't just unroll a scroll or open a book when we study the Word of G-d. We are examining G-d Himself. In this examination we gain understanding that causes us to recognize that the Living Word of G-d shall last forever as written in T'hillim/Psalm 119:89-90 AMP , "Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You established the earth, and it abides." It gives new meaning to Rav. Saul's/Apostle Paul's admonishment in 2 Timothy 2:15, "Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
I urge you today, if you don't study the Word on a daily basis, to make correction in yourself and get started. It is spirit and it is life.
