Heavenly Yerushalayim
by PJ

The City of our G-d is such an enormous subject that I have never been able to adequately describe it. There is so much to know about it and yet this website could not contain all the L-rd has shown me over the years....not-to-mention shown others. However it's a place we need to learn about because all of us, I pray, are going to live there. The City of our G-d is much more glorious than Gan Eden. So let's take a few minutes and look at a little of it's description.

Revelation 21 AMP "1THEN I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea.

    2And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband;

3Then I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live (encamp, tent) among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God.

4God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away.

5And He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new. Also He said, Record this, for these sayings are faithful (accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy) and true (genuine).

6And He [further] said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I [Myself] will give water without price from the fountain (springs) of the water of Life.

7He who is victorious shall inherit all these things, and I will be God to him and he shall be My son.

8But as for the cowards and the ignoble and the contemptible and the cravenly lacking in courage and the cowardly submissive, and as for the unbelieving and faithless, and as for the depraved and defiled with abominations, and as for murderers and the lewd and adulterous and the practicers of magic arts and the idolaters (those who give supreme devotion to anyone or anything other than God) and all liars (those who knowingly convey untruth by word or deed)--[all of these shall have] their part in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.

9Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven final plagues (afflictions, calamities) came and spoke to me. He said, Come with me! I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife.

10Then in the Spirit He conveyed me away to a vast and lofty mountain and exhibited to me the holy (hallowed, consecrated) city of Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God,

11Clothed in God's glory [in all its splendor and radiance]. The luster of it resembled a rare and most precious jewel, like jasper, shining clear as crystal.

12It had a massive and high wall with twelve [large] gates, and at the gates [there were stationed] twelve angels, and [on the gates] the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were written:

13On the east side three gates, on the north side three gates, on the south side three gates, and on the west side three gates.

14And the wall of the city had twelve foundation [stones], and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15And he who spoke to me had a golden measuring reed (rod) to measure the city and its gates and its wall.

16The city lies in a square, its length being the same as its width. And he measured the city with his reed--12,000 stadia (about 1,500 miles); its length and width and height are the same.

17He measured its wall also--144 cubits (about 72 yards) by a man's measure [of a cubit from his elbow to his third fingertip], which is [the measure] of the angel.

18The wall was built of jasper, while the city [itself was of] pure gold, clear and transparent like glass.

19The foundation [stones] of the wall of the city were ornamented with all of the precious stones. The first foundation [stone] was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony (or white agate), the fourth emerald,

20The fifth onyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.

21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each separate gate being built of one solid pearl. And the main street (the broadway) of the city was of gold as pure and translucent as glass.

22I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Omnipotent [Himself] and the Lamb [Himself] are its temple.

23And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the splendor and radiance (glory) of God illuminate it, and the Lamb is its lamp.

24The nations shall walk by its light and the rulers and leaders of the earth shall bring into it their glory.

25And its gates shall never be closed by day, and there shall be no night there.

26They shall bring the glory (the splendor and majesty) and the honor of the nations into it.

27But nothing that defiles or profanes or is unwashed shall ever enter it, nor anyone who commits abominations (unclean, detestable, morally repugnant things) or practices falsehood, but only those whose names are recorded in the Lamb's Book of Life."

This City of G-d is certainly going to be something to see. It's a great city that will be coming out of Heaven and hover over earthly Yerushalayim. Perhaps it will even be an orbiting city but one thing is for certain....it shall be home to those that have made Yeshua their choice.

Yochanan / John 10:9  records the words of Yeshua, "I am the gate; if someone enters through me, he will be safe and will go in and out and find pasture." Only those entering through Yeshua will have a reason to be in this City for going in and out speaks of ministry of those following Him. These are a people chosen for his own possession. There are going to be new limitless worlds for us to explore and one of the things that thrills me about eternity is that it will be a constant and consistent adventure in discovering G-d and His creation. And knowing that we are made in His image....we will be not only discovering that made by G-d.....we shall be creating with G-d too.

If you just take the foundations of this city....it's a lightshow of G-d's prismatic color and gems that flash forth through the Emissaries/Apostles. We're going to rejoice exceedingly in our spirits with ecstatic joy to see such beauty...such magnificence of G-d's wisdom. The gates being single pearls talk of beauty being born out of pain for it is a grain of sand in an oyster that irritates that forms a pearl. Yeshua, the Gate! Yeshua even told a parable recorded in Matit'yah ha-Levi /Matthew 13:45-46 about a man who gave up everything to buy a pearl. It's the story of G-d giving up all He had....to redeem us.

The 12 gates are perpetual reminders that salvation is of the Jews. It is through the Jewish nation that the Moshiach came and it is through the sons of Ya'akov that the Torah has been preserved. All 12 Emmisaries/Apostles are Jews. Twelve in the scriptures represents government. Look at this heavenly city...... 12 gates, 12 foundations, 12 angels, 12 squared cubits...it's a city of G-d's government. And if you consider the walls that surround it.....its a brilliant rainbow of intense light reflecting the great jewels. By the way, you wouldn't have walls unless you wanted to keep something in and/or keep something out. I believe it's a place where G-d can be intimate with those within and keep the impure out.

The heavenly Temple is G-d Himself! G-d cannot be held within the boundaries of a building. And when Ruach HaKodesh came to indwell us, we became a part of this heavenly Temple. We share the honor of being the dwelling places of the Most High G-d by His Spirit.

Can you imagine a place where there is no need for sun or moon? Can you imagine a place that is so full of light of pure truth of G-d that people can see without natural light? A city where there is no need for defense! A city where there is a river, a tree and fruit giving chaim! Life!

Well.....it's just a beginning.....a tiny introduction......to what it's really like there. I believe my favorite part about the heavenly Yerushalayim is that boredom won't exist there because there will be no selfishness.

A few years ago after the death of someone very dear to me, I was caught up in a series of visions over several months and was allowed to see a great deal of the heavenly Yerushalayim. I saw so many things that I would like to tell others about but I have never been fully released to do so. However, one vision really changed my thinking about heaven because I had heard so many stories during my lifetime about heaven being a place where we only worship G-d.

Don't get me wrong, I adore the Most High G-d. But thinking of spending eternity doing nothing but listening to sermons and singing worship music just really was a turn off to me. During these visions G-d began to show me what it's really like there and I long to live in that kind of place. If you truly understood what is there, where we are going, what we'll do there....you'd feel the same way.

It's a place where there are so many interesting things to see and do that I just don't know how I will ever do it all and yet.....I've seen nothing compared with what is really there.

Now people who know me very well know that I have collected Barbie dolls for years. I've got so many Barbie dolls I've lost count. They're all perfectly boxed and stored and kept in safety because I have no room for them in my home. I always felt it was a great waste to have such a large collection and nowhere to put it.

During one of the visions the L-rd took me to my house in heavenly Yerushalayim. I can tell you several things about this place. WOW! That's the first word that comes to mind. It exceeded all my expectations. It is beautiful!

The L-rd took me into a room that was painted my favorite color and it was lined with shelving and it was simply amazing how many Barbie dolls were there. I asked Him why there were so many Barbie dolls to which He said, "You always wanted a complete set and I made sure you have one." He then with excitement took me to a piece of furniture and said with a smile......"Look on the bottom!" I looked underneath this piece of furniture and carved on it was "Made by Yeshua". I asked Him...."L-rd You still do carpentry?" And He said, "Yes." Then He said, "I hope you like it." G-d has given complete and detailed perfection to everything regarding each of us.

I got to see and meet people in the heavenly Yerushalayim. I can't even explain how I knew who some of them were.....I just did. It's a gift there. You just know who everyone is.

Oh well, I could go on in this regard for a long time. My point is simply that heaven is not someplace that we're going to have to tolerate for an eternity after having lived 70-100 years on earth. Turn it around. Heaven is someplace we are going to LIVE after having spent 70-100 years in elementary training to prepare for it. And the major lesson we are to learn? That G-d is right and G-d is to be obeyed and every time we go our own way it leads to destruction.

Let us look forward as Avraham did, realizing that our journey does not stop in earthly things but that we continue to head toward that city whose Architect and Builder is G-d!
